You Know, Lord… You Know!

Opening Prayer

Father God, I come before You with a heart that is heavy, but still holding on to faith. You know my circumstances. You know the struggles that are unseen by others. You know the worries, the pressures, the responsibilities, and the battles that we face daily. Lord, as I write these words, I ask that Your Spirit guide me. Let this not merely be a record of hardship, but a testimony of trust in You. Amen.

Introduction

There are moments in life when reality becomes difficult to put into words.

It is with reluctance and even dread that I open my thoughts and write honestly about the struggles we face. People often say that the truth will set you free, but sometimes speaking the truth requires courage.

Yet I know this: the ultimate Truth is found in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.

From practical experience, I know that Julian and I are struggling to make ends meet. Missing even one day of income can have serious consequences. Losing multiple days can create a situation where every decision becomes critical.

Food becomes limited. Gas runs low. Electricity becomes something that must constantly be managed. The daily question becomes: “What needs attention first?”

It can become overwhelming.

But even in these moments, God sees.

A Moment of Reflection

Sometimes the greatest burdens are not only the things we lack, but the things we witness around us.

Living in difficult circumstances opens our eyes to the struggles of others. Over recent weeks, I have witnessed people searching through refuse bags for food. I have spoken with people in shops and on the streets whose stories reveal how much life has changed.

I remember speaking with a man who lives nearby. He spoke about how excited he and his wife were when they first moved into their home. He remembered how clean and peaceful the area had been years ago.

Then he pointed toward a pile of refuse bags scattered across the sidewalk and said:

“Look what it has turned into now.”

His words carried pain and disappointment.

This reminded me that behind every street, every home, and every neighbourhood are people carrying their own burdens.

Summary Poem

When The World Feels Heavy

When cupboards grow empty,
And worries fill the night,
When every path seems difficult,
And darkness hides the light.

The Father still is watching,
His mercy still remains,
He walks beside His children,
Through struggles and through pain.

The world may shake around us,
The future may seem unclear,
But God remains our refuge,
And He is always near.

Lessons From Scripture

1. God Sees Our Needs

Matthew 6:31-32

“Do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ … your heavenly Father knows that you need them.”

Jesus reminds us that our Father already knows what we require.

Practical Application:

Real-World Application:

When finances are tight and circumstances feel impossible, we can still choose faith over panic. God is aware of every detail.

2. God Is Present During Hard Times

Psalm 46:1

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”

Hard times do not mean God has abandoned us.

Practical Application:

Real-World Application:

Even when society around us appears to decline, God remains unchanged.

3. Truth Requires Courage

John 8:32

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Honesty is not always comfortable, but facing reality allows us to seek real solutions.

Practical Application:

Real-World Application:

Acknowledging difficulties is not defeat. It is the first step toward finding a way forward.

Church History Reflection

Throughout history, believers have faced times of poverty, persecution, uncertainty, and hardship.

The early Christians often lived with little material security, yet they continued sharing, encouraging one another, and trusting God’s provision.

The history of the Church reminds us that faith is not measured only by comfort, but by endurance.

Many believers discovered that their darkest seasons became the moments where their faith grew strongest.

Closing Prayer

Father God,

You know, Lord. You know.

You know every need before we speak it. You know every burden we carry. You know the challenges that stand before us.

I ask for Your intervention.

Provide what is needed. Open doors of opportunity. Give wisdom, strength, patience, and courage.

Help us not to become consumed by fear, but to remain anchored in Jesus Christ.

May our struggles become a testimony of Your faithfulness.

Amen.
