Preparing for the March to March Protest
2026-06-29
🚗 A Monday at the Mechanic and Preparing for the National Protests
“A productive day, even when plans change.”
🔑 Monday’s Progress
Although Monday is normally my day off, I was grateful to be able to work today. Since Tuesday, 30 June 2026, has been set aside for the March to March protest, I will not be working tomorrow.
After work, I took the vehicle to the mechanic to have the rear suspension looked at.
🛠️ The rear shock absorbers needed attention. One shock absorber had previously been replaced with a new unit, while the other had become faulty. Rather than fitting another new shock immediately, the mechanic decided to install the better of the two original shock absorbers, giving the vehicle a more balanced suspension until a permanent replacement can be fitted.
Sometimes it is these small maintenance jobs that keep a vehicle reliable enough to continue earning a living.
🇿🇦 30 June 2026 – The “March to March” Protest
Tomorrow, 30 June 2026, South Africa is expected to experience demonstrations organised primarily by the March and March citizen movement, with participation from other organisations, including Operation Dudula.
📢 Main Objective
The organisers are calling for:
- 🚨 Stronger enforcement of immigration laws.
- 🚨 The deportation of undocumented foreign nationals.
- 🚨 Increased government action regarding illegal immigration.
The organisers have described the demonstrations as peaceful protests focused on law enforcement.
⚠️ Government Response
The South African government has indicated that:
- 🏢 Businesses should continue operating as normal.
- 👮 Law enforcement agencies will monitor the situation.
- ⚖️ Any violence or unlawful behaviour will be dealt with according to the law.
🏪 Local Situation
Despite the government’s call for business as usual, many businesses in my area are taking precautionary measures.
Several local shops have indicated that they will remain closed during the demonstrations, and many foreign-owned shops are also expected to close for the day.
Like many South Africans, I will be watching events unfold and praying that the demonstrations remain peaceful and that everyone returns home safely.
🙏 Final Thoughts
Life often reminds us that we can only plan so much. One day we’re working, the next we’re at the mechanic, and tomorrow the country may come to a standstill because of public demonstrations.
Through it all, we continue moving forward, trusting God for wisdom, safety, and peace in uncertain times.
“If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” — Romans 12:18
