From Meccano To PlebWare

There are moments in life when you look back and suddenly realise that what seemed like childhood play was actually preparation.

As a young boy, I could spend hours building with Meccano. Every nut, bolt, gear, and beam taught me something about structure, logic, and solving problems. I wasn’t simply assembling toys—I was unknowingly training my mind to think like an engineer.

Over the decades those little metal parts were replaced by electrical circuits, railway systems, computers, Linux, programming, artificial intelligence, and eventually writing. Each new chapter built upon the last.

Today that journey has become PlebWare—a project dedicated to making technology understandable, practical, and empowering for ordinary people. What began with a box of Meccano has evolved into thousands of hours of documentation, experimentation, and sharing knowledge with others.

Life has taught me that no experience is ever wasted. The skills we gather, the failures we endure, and the dreams we refuse to abandon all become building blocks for something greater.

Sometimes the biggest projects begin with the smallest pieces.
