🙏 OPENING PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of life, for every year You have carried us through, and for the wonderful ability to remain curious, joyful and willing to learn, help us never to become so concerned with our age that we forget the childlike wonder You placed within us, teach us to laugh at ourselves, to keep growing in wisdom, and to approach every new day with enthusiasm and faith, in Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏
🧓➡️🧠 AGE IS NOT THE END OF CURIOSITY
I recently received an email from OpenAI telling me that my teenage safety protections were scheduled to be removed, and at 63 years old I couldn’t help but laugh because apparently somewhere inside the great machinery of artificial intelligence there was a system thinking, “This fellow might still need teenage protection!” 😂 And honestly, I took it as a compliment because there is something wonderful about reaching an older age without allowing your mind to become old, because Scripture never tells us that growing older means we must stop learning, stop laughing, stop dreaming or stop asking questions, and perhaps one of the greatest gifts God gives us is the ability to retain a sense of wonder even after we have accumulated decades of experience, because experience should make us wiser without making us cynical, age should give us perspective without stealing our joy, and the passing of years should deepen our faith rather than diminish our curiosity, so perhaps today we should stop asking “How old am I?” and start asking “What can God still teach me?” 🧠✨

God never says that our usefulness expires when we reach a particular birthday.
There is still fruit to bear.

Laugh at yourself.
And when somebody says, “You’re getting old,” don’t automatically hear, “You’re finished.”
Sometimes it simply means:
“You’ve accumulated another year of experience.” 😄

Today, deliberately do one thing that makes you curious.
Learn something.
Build something.
Read something.
Write something.
Ask a question.
Or simply look at something ordinary and wonder how it works.
Then thank God that you are still here to discover the answer.

📜 THE 63-YEAR-OLD TEENAGER
They said, “You’re getting old, my friend, Your youthful years have reached their end.”
I said, “Perhaps my knees agree, But there’s still plenty of youth in me!”
My boss said, “Uncle, drive more slow, Your reactions aren’t as fast, you know.”
I said, “I’ll listen when they fade, Until then, careful gaps are made!” 😂
Then OpenAI sent me a note:
“Teenage protections? Keep them afloat!”
I scratched my head and wondered why—
“At sixty-three? Me? A teenage guy?”
But then I laughed and understood:
Perhaps staying young is actually good.

Perhaps God doesn’t look at us quite the way we look at ourselves.
We see birthdays.
God sees purpose.
We see wrinkles.
God sees experience.
We see years behind us.
God sees opportunities still ahead.
And while our earthly bodies inevitably change, the spirit with which we approach life can remain vibrant.
So don’t be ashamed of growing older.
Grow older without growing spiritually stale.
Keep the wisdom of the years and the wonder of the child.
Keep the experience and the curiosity.
Keep the maturity and the laughter.
Because there is nothing wrong with being an old man who still gets excited about new things.

🙏 CLOSING PRAYER
Lord Jesus, help us never to confuse growing older with becoming useless, help us to treasure the wisdom that comes with experience while keeping the humility and wonder of a child, give us strength to keep learning, courage to keep trying, faith to keep serving, and enough humour to laugh when life reminds us that we are not as young as we once were, may every year behind us become wisdom and every day ahead become opportunity, and may we remain young in spirit while growing ever deeper in You, Amen. 🙏
