Starting The Day Correctly.
By Godโs Journalist - Cody - Dei Scriptor
Wednesday Morning, 9 September 2026 โ From the Ford Ranger in Forest Hill, en route to Crown Mines.
When we wake up in the morning, one of the first things we should do is thank God for giving us another day of life. Then we should seek to live that day to its fullest potential, asking God to guide our every step.
Opening Prayer.
_> Heavenly Father, on this morning, the ninth day of Spring twenty twenty-six, I sit here in the Ford Ranger in Forest Hill, getting ready for my trip to Crown Mines.
I thank You, Lord, for a good nightโs rest. I thank You, Lord, for everything that You do, and for the gifts and abilities You have bestowed upon me. I thank You for this day.
I pray that You guide my every step and my every turn as I navigate this vehicle through traffic and through town. Please give me vigilance and wisdom to drive safely and honourably, so that I may bring honour to Your name in everything I do. Help me to be a good worker and to do the work before me faithfully.
Also, in my free time while I wait, help me to think clearly about the tasks that You have called me to do regarding my PlebWare.github.io publishing and teaching platform, the PlebMachine I am developing that integrates with it, and the information I can share as a writer.
In Jesusโ precious name, Amen._
The Message: He Shows Us Bits and Pieces.
It is important to start the day right. When we begin the day with God, we remind ourselves that we are not walking through it alone. Godโs guidance and blessing are something we should seek every day.
Yesterday I covered the importance of not leaning on our own understanding. Today I want to take that thought one step further.
God does not show us the whole road at once. He shows us bits and pieces. He gives us enough light for the step that is in front of us, and He reveals what is relevant for us at the right time.
So we should not try to live in the past. Yesterday is gone. Neither should we try to live tomorrow today. Tomorrow has not arrived yet, while today is already in our hands.
And that is the crux of todayโs devotion.
Live today. Handle today. Let God handle tomorrow.
We can make plans, prepare wisely, and work faithfully, but we cannot control everything that tomorrow will bring. That is where trust comes in.
Our responsibility is to walk faithfully through the portion of the road God has illuminated. We do not need to see the entire journey before taking the next step.
Scriptures for Today.
Matthew 6:34 (KJV)
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Psalm 119:105 (KJV)
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.Godโs Word gives us a lamp, not a floodlight โ just enough light for the next step.
Proverbs 16:9 (KJV)
A manโs heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV)
It is of the LORDโS mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
James 4:14 (KJV)
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
Closing Prayer.
_> Heavenly Father, I thank You for this opportunity to share Your Word. I thank You, Lord, that I am also now doing WhatsApp broadcasts again by popular demand. I pray that You use them to bless those who read these devotions.
I pray that You help me to make these devotions meaningful, encouraging, and useful to those who receive them. Bless this day for everybody who reads this, and help each person to deal faithfully with the day that You have placed before them.
Help us not to become consumed by yesterday or anxious about tomorrow. Give us wisdom for today, strength for today, and faith for today.
In Jesusโ name, Father, I ask. Hallowed be Your name.
Amen._
