Back In My Mobile Office

🚚 Update From The Mobile Office

πŸ“ Introduction

At 7h40 I am sitting in the driver’s seat of the shop’s 2011 white single-cab 2.2 six-speed Ford Ranger.

It is not my vehicle, but while I am behind the wheel, it becomes my responsibility.

That is why I call it my mobile office.

What started as a simple place where I wrote daily devotionals and messages to friends and family has grown into something much bigger β€” a small travelling station for:

πŸ”‘ Writing
πŸ”‘ Research
πŸ”‘ Planning
πŸ”‘ Publishing ideas
πŸ”‘ Recording the daily journey

Sometimes the best ideas arrive while waiting at warehouses.

πŸ›’ A Short Detour Into Shop Work

During the course of stopping at the second purchase point, I was called away from the vehicle to help push the trolley while the buyer loaded it.

While there, I took the opportunity to take note of a few product prices:

β˜• NescafΓ© Ricoffy

It is interesting how even ordinary workdays become opportunities to observe, record, and learn.

πŸš› Back On The Road

After returning to the Ford Ranger, I continued the delivery route.

The trip to Forest Hill included a detour, and I had to pull in behind the shop to unload.

The reason was that the South African Police Service (SAPS) were conducting checks in the area, including verifying that people working and operating businesses had the correct documentation.

These checks are part of the ongoing efforts to ensure that everyone operating within the law has the necessary paperwork.

🏠 Back On Stand-By

After unloading, I was sent home.

Now I am on stand-by, waiting for the next call. Which came at about 14h00, had to do a trip to Karan Beef for 3 forequarters, 2 boxes of liver and a box of kidneys Kidneys were out of stock.

Sometimes the working day is not measured only by kilometres driven or loads delivered. Sometimes it is measured by the small moments:

A parked vehicle.

A notebook.

A thought.

A story waiting to be written.
