Oh Death, Where Is Thy Sting?

🕯️ A Cry From the Valley of Shadows

“Even in the darkest valley, the heart still searches for the light beyond the storm.”

Otto’s Poem

Oh Death, where is thy sting?
If only you could make the accusations stop to ring.

If only the voices of blame would fade away,
And leave room for peace to enter each day.

Angel of death, you avoid me at every turn,
While alone I stand as my heart continues to burn.

I walk through valleys hidden from sight,
Carrying burdens through the darkness of night.

The world may see a face standing tall,
But they do not see the tears behind the wall.

The battles within are silent and deep,
The wounds of the soul that refuse to sleep.

Oh night, why do you release me so fast
To face the anger and struggles that last?

Again and again, my broken feet
Must travel the same old road I meet.

The path is familiar, the journey is long,
Yet somewhere inside there remains a song.

My body grows tired, my spirit feels weak,
Yet still there is hope that my heart will seek.

The questions rise like a storm-filled sea,
"Why must these troubles continue chasing me?"

The morning arrives with another fight,
Another mountain blocking the light.

But somewhere beyond the clouds above,
There remains a whisper of mercy and love.

For death may knock upon every door,
But it does not own the soul forevermore.

The pain may shout, the sorrow may cry,
But hope still watches from the endless sky.

I have walked through fire, I have known the rain,
I have carried memories filled with pain.

Yet every sunrise is a message given,
A reminder that life is still worth living.

The accusations may echo through the years,
The loneliness may bring hidden tears.

But my story is not written by despair,
For there is One who has always been there.

The night may feel like it will never end,
The broken heart may struggle to mend.

But dawn always follows the darkest night,
And shadows surrender before the light.

Oh Death, where is thy victory?
Oh Grave, where is thy mystery?

For the final word does not belong to pain,
And after every storm comes peace again.

Until that day I will continue to stand,
Holding faith within my trembling hand.

For though my feet may stumble and fall,
Grace gives me strength to answer the call.

“A wounded heart may cry out in the darkness, but even the smallest flame can push back the deepest shadow.”
