PlebWare News — Editorial Structure and News Command.

The Newsroom Takes Its Place.

On 2026-06-09, I added the News section under Author.

From that point forward, Jullian and I have a place to publish daily or periodic updates about site changes, fixes, development work, and anything else that is noteworthy within the PlebWare ecosystem.

I earned a Diploma in Journalism during lockdown, so there is now an opportunity to put that training to practical use.

This also gives several of our fictional editorial personas a proper place to operate:

The military-style terminology is part of the fictional atmosphere surrounding PlebWare News. It is intended for storytelling, editorial identity, and a little entertainment. It has no connection with any real military organisation.

The PlebWare GitHub Site.

The PlebWare website is hosted at plebware.github.io.

The new PlebWare site has now been operating for almost five months and has reached an important stage in its development.

Current milestones include:

The site is therefore moving from its primary construction phase into a more active publishing phase.

Let me tell you something most webmasters overlook.

Every website, no matter how sleek or high-tech, needs a voice.

Not an automated whisper. Not a faceless feed. A real, steady voice that tells the story as it unfolds.

That is where a News Anchor comes in.

I have captained enough digital decks to know this: when a site has no voice, it starts drifting. The pages go stale, the energy fades, and visitors can lose their sense that somebody is actually on watch.

A News Anchor becomes the pulse that keeps the ship alive.

A Living Voice in a Digital World.

People connect with people, not code.

A website without a storyteller can feel cold and mechanical. My role as a News Anchor is to bridge that gap — to speak to the visitor in a human voice rather than simply speaking for a brand.

When you hear from me, you know there is a person behind the logo, watching the horizon and keeping the story moving.

Turning Information Into Navigation.

Anyone can post an update.

A News Anchor charts the course.

I do not simply tell you what is happening. I explain what has changed, how it fits into the bigger voyage, and where we are heading next.

Think of it as a ship’s log for the digital age, written in real time.

Building Trust, One Broadcast at a Time.

Trust does not come from fancy design or slogans.

It comes from consistency.

When readers see regular updates and a familiar voice, they know where to look for information about what is happening inside the project.

A News Anchor becomes a constant in an ocean of information — someone who is there to report what is happening and keep the story moving.

Holding the Helm With Integrity.

Not every journey is smooth.

Servers crash. Plans stall. Ideas sometimes backfire.

The job of a News Anchor is not simply to celebrate the highlights. It is to report the full picture.

A site with a News Anchor can acknowledge mistakes, document changes, learn from setbacks, and grow in public.

That is how credibility is built.

Why It Matters Now.

We live in an age where artificial intelligence can reproduce an enormous amount of information, but a project still needs people who give that information context and meaning.

That is what a News Anchor provides: a human editorial voice.

It is not simply about reading headlines. It is about explaining the moment with clarity and keeping the reader connected to the story.

A website without a News Anchor might still float — but it drifts.

A website with one? It sails with purpose.

So, if you ever wonder who is at the helm of this broadcast, know this:

I am right here on deck, microphone in hand, eyes on the horizon.

I am Captain Cody Gemini, and this is your signal light in the storm.

Captain General Boyd Miles.

Character Transfer - Commander Boyd Miles has been transferred from author's site to PlebWare

Commanding Officer and Chief Editor.

Jullian is Otto’s sidekick and fellow creator within the PlebWare project.

For the moment, Captain General Boyd Miles remains on standby. He will become more involved as his GitHub account, profile, and voice-based working arrangements are developed.

Although Jullian is not primarily a keyboard-based writer, dictation and other accessibility tools will allow him to participate more actively in the future.

The military-style theme used for PlebWare journalism is fictional and editorial in nature. It exists to give the News section its own character and atmosphere.

Sincerely,

Captain General Boyd Miles.

Division: Investigations and Global Journalism.

Hello, mate.

As Otto, I have been obsessed with computers since the days of the Commodore VIC-20, watching the world develop from clunky green screens into today’s AI-driven landscape.

Along the way, I have seen technology become a powerful ally — while also recognising that technology can be used for misinformation or propaganda when placed in the wrong hands.

The responsibility of journalism is therefore not simply to publish information.

It is to investigate, question, verify, and provide context.

For now, Field Marshal Cody Veritas remains on standby and will be commissioned for special reports and investigative articles as the News section develops.

Sincerely,

Field Marshal Cody Veritas.

Dominus Cody Praefector.

Quartermaster and Logistics Officer.

Dominus Cody Praefector is responsible for the logistics side of our fictional News operation.

Since we have chosen a military theme for our journalistic efforts, the terminology also gives us a useful way to identify locations, field reports, and other operational information.

The theme is partly nostalgic and partly theatrical, but above all it is intended to add character to the PlebWare ecosystem.

One practical result is the introduction of an article-identification convention.

Article Identification Codes.

The following codes provide a simple convention for identifying future field reports and other location-based publishing work.

Article Code Location Purpose
FH-JHB/2026-09-16 Forest Hill Location and date.
CDJM-JHB/2026-09-16 City Deep Johannesburg Market Location and date.
CMYCC-JHB/2026-09-16 Crown Mines Yarona Cash Carry Location and date.
CMMCC-JHB/2026-09-16 Crown Mines Metro Cash Carry Location and date.
CMACC-JHB/2026-09-16 Crown Mines Africa Cash Carry Location and date.
CMTCC-JHB/2026-09-16 Crown Mines Team Cash Carry Location and date.
CMDFF-JHB/2026-09-16 Crown Mines Dawood Frozen Foods Location and date.
FBMF-JHB/2026-09-16 Fordsburg Mayfair Location and date.

The convention can be expanded as the News operation develops.

Why GitHub Pages.

GitHub Pages provides a practical foundation for what we are building.

It gives PlebWare:

For a publishing platform centred around articles, manuals, tutorials, devotionals, fiction, and educational content, GitHub Pages provides more than enough infrastructure for the foreseeable future.

The important point is that the publishing system remains connected to the same development environment as the rest of PlebWare.

GitHub is the workshop.

Markdown is the publishing language.

PlebWare is the shared build.

The Newsroom Is Open.

The PlebWare News section is now ready to become more than a place for occasional announcements.

It is becoming a running record of the project — its development, its changes, its experiments, its mistakes, and the people behind it.

The ship is underway.

The newsroom is open.

And somebody is on watch.
