π₯ Ingredients
- π₯ 4 Potatoes
- π₯© 500g Soup Meat
- π 3 Tomatoes
- πΎ Β½ Cup Barley
- π₯¬ 1 Turnip
- π₯ 1 Carrot
- π§ 2 Onions
- π« 2 Tablespoons Oil
- π§ 8 Cups Water
- π§ Salt to taste
- πΆοΈ Pepper to taste
- π¬ Pinch of Sugar
π©βπ³ Method
- Chop or cut the meat into small pieces.
- Place the meat into a saucepan and brown in oil.
- Add water and bring to the boil.
- Lower the heat and allow the meat to cook gently for about 2 hours.
- Strain the soup and return the liquid to the saucepan over heat.
- Add:
- Barley
- Finely chopped vegetables
- Cook until the vegetables are soft.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Add a pinch of sugar to balance the flavour.
- Just before serving, return the leftover meat to the soup after removing all bones.
- Add a little finely chopped parsley.
